There are several classroom courses in the RYA Navigation scheme, these vary in length from 2 days to 6 days. Some of them we may run as evening classes or as non-consecutive days.This will be detailed on your booking confirmation. 

Number of Days: 

Essential Navigation and Seamanship – 16 Hours (normally 2 days)

Day Skipper Shorebased – 40 Hours plus exam time (normally 5 days)

Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased – 40 Hours plus exam time (normally 6 days as more exams than Dayskipper)

Hours: The courses will run each day from 09:00 till 17:00 unless otherwise stated at time of booking and on course booking confirmation. 

Exams: If the course contains exams these will be given to the students at a time deemed appropriate by the instructor. They will then be marked by the instructor and feedback given. 

Certificate: Upon successful passing of the exams a course completion certificate will be issued. The training centre will maintain record of this for seven years.
